The wedding cake is a very ancient tradition, which today is a focal point of many weddings. You can find references to it in many cultures throughout history in one form or another. In bygone years, it was customary to through many small cakes over the bride which may have evolved into the Romans baking a sort of bread that was eaten during the wedding ceremony, sometimes it was baked very thin and was broken over the bride's head after the ceremony to symbolize fertility. Wheat has traditionally symbolized fertility. In England during the middle ages, it became traditional to kiss over a cluster of cakes. The higher the tower, the better luck in their marriage. You might be thinking why do I need or even want a wedding website. I'm having my San Jose wedding and I'm already doing traditional invitations. Why do I need it? How will it help me?

Having just gone though this I can tell you it's very helpful. I was warned that "most" of the people we were inviting probably didn't even have email, but being an online kind of guy I decided not to listen and do it anyway. I'm glad I did. About half the people did use the online RSVP service, which made it much easier to keep track of them (I added the other people by hand, so I would have them in one place) I was easily able to get a list to our caterer with all the meal choices. Our event planner got the same list and was able to do all the seating from it.

We added engagement photos at first and then later posted all our wedding photos. No fuss, no muss. You can easily add video as well. After doing over 1000 weddings (mostly as a DJ, but also as a caterer, event planner, photographer, videographer, bartender, etc.) I'll be posting up video reviews of various Bay Area, San Jose wedding vendors (with an emphasis on San Jose wedding vendors and Silicon Valley wedding vendors.)

If I find some great wedding tips, or some helpful tools or lists, I'll post them up here as well. Eventually, you'll find video interviews with all sorts of San Jose wedding vendors (even other DJ's - because I'm not the only good one). Obviously, I am a DJ and I hope that if you like the impartial reviews, interviews and wedding information, and you need a DJ, you'll at least see if I'm available.
